For manufacturers who outgrew the spreadsheet recipe
Most small South African manufacturers keep their recipes in a spreadsheet and their stock in the accounting package. The recipe uses last year's prices, nobody knows the true cost of a product after a price increase, and a missing component shows up on the day of production.
Miridia connects the recipe, the stock, and the purchasing. A bill of materials knows the price of each component on each date. A work order takes the components out of stock and puts the finished goods in. The material plan tells you what to buy before the shortage, and it goes live in weeks, not months.

What Miridia does for production
BOM cost at a date
Miridia prices each component from its purchase price history on the date that you select, with pack sizes and units of measure handled. Multi-level BOMs roll up in full.
Work orders
A work order takes a snapshot of the BOM, so a later recipe change does not affect it. When it completes, Miridia posts the component use and the finished goods, at the weighted average cost.
Material planning
MRP reports show the materials that production needs. With Miridia Planner, the demand forecast drives the MRP and the purchase plan for each BOM.
Purchasing
Purchase orders from reorder points, with a preferred supplier for each BOM line. Goods received notes post the stock, and landed cost lines add shipping and duties.
Lot and serial traceability
A completed work order can create a lot with a lot number and an expiry date. Each lot has its own movement history and file attachments, and serial numbers link each unit to its lot, its work order, and its shipment.

Food and beverage
For food and beverage producers
Many small South African manufacturers make food or drinks. Miridia supports the records that FSSC 22000, HACCP, and ISO audits ask for: an append-only stock movement ledger, versioned BOMs, and a trace from each work order to the components that it used. The cold-chain workflows, which are priced separately, raise an alert when a temperature breach occurs on a transfer or a shipment, where a carrier telematics feed is available.
Each production run can create a lot with a lot number and an expiry date. Attach certificates and test results to the lot, and follow each of its movements. When a customer complains, trace the lot or the serial number back through the work order to the components that it used, and forward to the shipments that carried it.

Priced in rand
The Starter plan is R3,000 a month, and yearly billing saves 10%. It includes orders, inventory, purchasing, bills of material, work orders, integrations, workflows, the full API, and the Ask Your Data chat, for up to 2,500 orders a month, 3 active integrations, and 10 team members.
MRP reports are part of the core platform. Miridia Planner, which drives the MRP from a demand forecast, and the cold-chain workflows are advanced modules, priced separately on either plan. The Enterprise plan has a custom price.
When Miridia is not the right choice
We prefer that you learn this now, and not in the third month.
- You need to follow each unit through each production step, as a manufacturing execution system (MES) does. Miridia tracks lots and serial numbers, but not the state of each unit at each step.
- You need finite-capacity scheduling that sequences a constrained work centre shift by shift. Miridia runs work orders, but it does not sequence a work centre.
- You want one product for production, the general ledger, and payroll. Miridia connects to your accounting package. It does not replace it.

What is MRP software?
MRP stands for material requirements planning. MRP software calculates which materials production needs, and when, from your bills of materials, your stock, and your demand. Miridia also runs the production itself with work orders, and it raises the purchase orders.
Does Miridia do batch or lot tracking?
Yes. A completed work order can create a lot with a lot number and an expiry date, and each lot has its own movement history and file attachments. Serial numbers link each unit that you make to its lot, its work order, and its shipment.
Can Miridia cost my products after a price increase?
Yes. The BOM cost uses the purchase price history of each component on the date that you select. Cost the same recipe before and after a supplier increase, and see the difference for each product.
